Bogor is a city located in the West Java province of Indonesia. It is just 60 kilometres to the south of the capital of Jakarta and is well known in the area as a mountain resort. It is also a great place to play golf and the Bogor golf courses are some of the best in the country.

Emeralda Golf and Country Club is located between Bogor and Jakarta and is home to a 27 hole golf course. It has been created by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, two of the biggest legends in the sport. There are five sets of tees, making the course suitable for every player and the quality of the course is second-to-none. Emeralda Golf and Country Club is maintained to a very high standard and offers a great round of golf.
From one excellent layout to another and many people believe Rancamaya Golf and Country Club is one of the best Bogor golf courses. It is easy to see why with several lakes and the hilly terrain providing a good challenge. As players tee off on the first hole, which is called Volcano, Mount Salak is visible in the background as the fairway drops away towards the green.
For those who like playing golf in a mountain setting, The Gunung Geulis Country Club is a great choice when playing golf in Bogor. This 36-hole course designed by Peter Thomson is located 450 metres above sea level, in the Bogor hills. The 36 holes are split into the West Course and the East Course, with the surrounding countryside providing a lovely backdrop to a great round of golf.
For those who want to really test themselves, Riverside Golf Club is regarded by many as being one of the toughest Bogor golf courses. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this course requires a slightly longer journey from Bogor than most but it is worth making. The 18 holes wind their way through the jungle, with streams, rivers and ravines coming into play on several holes. There are some long holes on this golf course and three par-3 holes require long shots over water.
If you want to put your golf to the test in Bogor, the Riverside Golf Club is for you.
A little closer to Bogor, you will find Sentul Highlands Golf. This course was designed by Gary Player and is just 30 minutes away from the city. Opened for play in 1997, there are some excellent views on many of the holes and accuracy is key off the tee for a low score.
In addition to the Bogor golf courses highlighted above, visitors can also enjoy a round at Klub Golf Bogor Raya, Permata Sentul Golf and Rainbow Hills Golf Club.
