The Fire Course was also designed by Greg Norman and is more links style in design and provides the golfer with a totally different set of challenges to those faced on the more acclaimed Earth course.

There are many players that actually prefer the Fire course over the Earth course, but one thing is for sure, they are both deserving of their places on the must play list of Dubai golf courses.

The Fire course is also visually stunning, as are most Norman designed golf courses, but the use of the long reeds, sand and grasses create a dimension to the course which is at the mercy of the wind, due to its location on the outer edges of the resort.

The greens are more “golfer friendly” and this gives golfers of all abilities the chance to enjoy and score well on this highly prize Dubai course.

The “red” sand bunkers make for a visually stunning design feature and draw the golfer’s eye away from the fairway and towards the trouble. The Fire although by no means an easy test of golf is much fairer than its big sister, hit good shots and you will be rewarded with a good score. Miss the large undulating fairways and you will be in a world of trouble. But this is the beauty of the golf course and how every golf course should be.

Yet again there are memories to be made at every tee, the first eases you into the round but you are soon reminded of the challenges that you will face with a long par 3 and two very tricky par fours. Get through these holes in level par and you will be more than happy with your start.

The finish is also a good challenge, with the 16th a reachable par four with no bunkers around the green, which could set you up for a grandstand finish down the straight. The long uphill 17th is a tough hole, but with good course management can be cut down to size. The final hole a par five offers a great birdie opportunity right in front of the impressive clubhouse.

The Jumeirah Golf Estate has to be considered as one of the finest resorts in Dubai, and with another two courses, Wind and Water, still to be completed the future looks extremely bright.

Absolutely amazing course and facilities

What a stunning course and venue, everything is done to perfection. Top of the range Titleist hire clubs all packed on the cart ready to go and footjoy hire shoes. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. I was paired up with members who couldn’t have been and nicer and were both a massive help managing the course, which is needed, there are a lot of bunkers to avoid. Cracking hot tub, sauna and shower facilities for when you’re done much needed you will be sweaty.. shop staff arranged my taxi back to the marina only about 40 UAD. Can’t recommend this place enough

Far below our expectations!

Flat course . Two gentlemen who joined us were practicing for a scratch tournament. They were hitting the ball from the same spot . Finish the green on its own without waiting for two of us to finish for our putting . Lacked total courtesy of a gentleman golfers . After charging arm and leg as a green fee and golf set no water bottle was provided . Very ordinary Fire course , not worth recommending. Our home course is DLF golf and country club , gurgaon India - comparable with the best in Asia

We did not have a very enjoyable experience.

We were paired with two young lady members (25-30 years old) who although they were capable golfers, never stopped talking to each other loudly enough that we could hear them when we played every shot. We had 4 hours of that inconsiderate behaviour and were quite frankly happy to get off the course! They were rude, and they just did not care!. Generally the course was ok there were a lot of unrepaired pitch marks on the greens, and a few of the fairways had ground under repair. The bunkers were inconsistent in terms of depth of sand.
