Vietnam is fast becoming a popular choice for a golf holiday. When the weather turns in the northern hemisphere and playing golf becomes difficult, the weather in much of Vietnam is at its best and there is no better feeling than being basked in sunshine on KN Golf Links.
If you visit KN Golf Links between February and May, you will see the best of the weather thanks to the tropical climate in in Cam Ranh. To reach this golf course, you can fly to Cam Ranh Bay International Airport and KN Golf Links is just a 20 minute drive away. It does not get any better than that and with direct flights from China, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and Russia, it is very easy to travel to this region of Vietnam.
KN Golf Links was designed by Greg Norman and opened for play in 2018, making it one of the latest editions to the expanding golf scene in Vietnam. This is one of only a few genuine links golf courses in Asia and a rare treat for those who visit.
The course at KN Golf Links was created on rolling dunes and this makes for some significant changes in elevation throughout the 18 holes. There is over 50 metres difference between the lowest and highest point of the golf course and there will be an additional 9 holes added to make 27 holes to enjoy in total.
You will find a variety of holes at KN Golf Links, mainly thanks to the natural design of the course. The coastal dunes and hazards are as much a part of the landscape as they are the golf course and some of the views from the tee boxes over the ocean are tremendous.
While many golf courses in Asia are flanked by trees, there is not a single tree in sight as you play KN Golf Links and it is more reminiscent of a Scottish links course than an Asian golf course. The natural contours of the land are one of the many challenges faced when playing a round at KN Golf Links. With run-off areas on most holes, you will need to be precise with shots both off the tee and on approach to the green.
Bunkering is a key feature throughout and you will do well to play the 18 holes and not find the sand. The course plays to 7,152 yards from the back tees but 5,348 form the front tees, so you can choose any of the five tee placements to match your ability.
KN Golf Links is managed by IMG and the course and facilities are kept in great condition throughout the year. Facilities include a modern clubhouse, with locker rooms, a restaurant, café, driving range and pro shop. You can also book a room at the nearby Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh Resort and enjoy a lovely couple of days mastering the KN Golf Links.
