Designed by Eiichi Motohashi, under supervision by Desmond Muirhead, the 7017-yard par 72 Sano-Hillcrest Golf course is a gem in the Taiheiyo Club portfolio.
The course takes advantage of its location perfectly, creating a splendid mix of hole styles.
Enjoying the landscape as it does, the course weaves between native trees, the undulating terrain and water hazards that keeps the golfer waiting to find out what hole is coming next.
Wide fairways, that are lush and gently undulating for the most part, are often protected by decorative bunkers, which provide more than just aesthetic meaning.
The designers use of the natural topography is sublime, the incredible green and bunker that drop down to the waters edge is a delightful touch of genius and with the incredible backdrop of the jungle clad mountains the hole is one that will live long in the memory.
Presented immaculately by the green staff the course is highly thought of and is one that you should add to your list if you are in the region.
Practice facilities are good with a large driving range, short game area and putting green to sharpen your skills.
The clubhouse blends beautifully into the surroundings and offers everything a golfer could require before and after the round and has incredibly attentive staff.
