Spectacular views await you at the Rancamaya Golf and Country Club, which is located some 45 minutes away from Jakarta and some 450 meters above sea level. The golf course was designed by Ted Robinson and it was his vision that has created a wonderfully interesting and exciting championship layout. The altitude of the golf course means that you will drive the some 20 meters further, which has to be a help to all golfers!!
The course set within the Rancamaya Estate offers a variety of facilities and accommodation options with a hotel on site. The County Club boasts a world class fitness centre, gym and kids centre. The most idyllic of swimming pools awaits you, with romantic views to Mount Salak, which can also be enjoyed whilst trying the wonderful selection of food on offer from the Waterfall Bar Area.
The course has been designed with three factors in mind; natural beauty, flexibility and memorability which has resulted in a unique course with varying levels of difficulty and a new challenge on every hole.
Strategically placed bunkers, multiple teeing grounds and undulating greens create a new experience every time, ensuring that the golfer will leave with happy memories of Rancamaya.
Golfers are made aware of the spectacular setting from the get go, with the first considered one of the most spectacular starting holes in the world. Easier than it looks, the fairway which is some 273 yards below is wide, with only the longer hitters needing to be aware of the lake to the right. The approach to the green is straight forward and should result in a par.
The mid length par 3 6th requires accuracy, played down the hill you must hit the green to avoid one of the 7 pot bunkers that lurk around the green.
The ninth is a beautiful hole, but fraught with danger. At just over 400 yards the tee shot is key to setting up an approach to the green protected by water. The waterfalls to the right blend effortlessly in to the hole.
Hole fourteen is another spectacular hole, a par three played from an elevated tee to a green surrounded by trouble. Club selection is paramount as anything short will find a watery grave and anything long will leave a very difficult shot form the elevated back bunker.
To finish another visually stunning hole. A gentle dogleg to the right requires a well-positioned tee shot to leave a view of the island green. Take a moment and take in the sounds of the cascading water as you settle your nerves for one of the hardest shots of the day, a great finishing hole, and if you score a par you will be more than happy with the result.
