Chiyoda Country Club is a golf course owned and operated by PGM and is very conveniently located around 70 minutes from the centre. The course is almost totally flat with very few elevation changes so the course is popular with lady golfers and seniors.
Although the courses are not hilly, that does not mean that it is easy as it is quite a strategic course requiring careful shot making. It’s a 27-hole layout with three nines named rather unoriginally: West, Middle & East.
On the West course the trouble starts as early as the second hole with a tee shot over water and an approach to a heavily guarded green. The third hole is a short par 3 and if you are playing to the right-hand green there are bunkers in front and the OB line close by if you slice. The eighth is quite daunting as it requires quite along carry over water to reach the safety of the fairway.
Most of the difficulty on the Middle course comes from the two par 3’s: On the sixth hole you tee off across a pond to a heavily bunkered green and on the eighth a large pond runs along the rights side of the green and a large bunkers guards the front.
The fifth is the standout hole on the East course – it’s a right-hand dogleg with the Ob line close down the right and three bunkers guarding the fairway. The finishing hole is a long par 5 with water guarding the left side of the green and the OB line all the way along the right-hand side
