Phoenix Golf and Country Club is around 30 minutes outside Pattaya. The course was originally designed by Denis Griffiths in 1993 and the three course are spread over more than 1,000 rai and having been around for so long the course is blessed with may mature trees and colourful local plants.

In addition there are plenty of lakes, ponds and bunkers to ensure that the golf course has some protection

The Mountain Course offers golfers a wonderful view of one of the famous local landmark which is a huge image of a Buddha carved into a sheer cliff face with a laser.  The narrow undulating fairways and the fast greens will provide a stern test for all golfers.

The Lakes Course rewards golfers who can keep their drives on line so ensuring the best position for your layup to the greens.  The course is sprinkled with many beautiful ponds and small lakes and few strategically-placed trees and bunkers to challenge most golfers.

The Ocean Course is a favourite with local Pattaya golfers as many of the fairways are lined with mature trees but it is now undergoing a major renovation and to modernise the layout and it is expected to re-open in early 2016.

Good game at Phoenix Gold Golf

30 mins from Pattaya. Good course layout and condition. Clean and easy to spot the ball even out of the fairway. Nice looking red-brown bunkers over green background, pretty hard to get out from. The locker room is great.

Good fun

7am tee time. Nice morning weather. The fairway is good, although wet in a few areas due to the rain on the last 2 days. We enjoy the game, I played from the white and my son (12y) played from the red. The distance between tees is just right for us. The first 9 is on the Ocean course, it went very quickly, thanks to the group of 4 that allowed us to pass. The back 9 is on the Mountain course, at an average pace. O4 with several sand pots on the left looked great, and the M6 long straight with the mountain as a background looked fantastic. The facilities are excellent, that is what we needed after the round!

The greens were tricky but slower than it looked.

As a Handicap 13 player, the Lake Course was a bit short that I managed to finish with quite good scores keeping my 1Wood in my bag. The caddie was excellent in green reading that I did regret not listening to exactly what she advised before putting in the first few holes. The green was tricky but slower than it looked. Efficient arrangement on a busy day. Although pace was slow in the first few holes, the rest were fine. I had an focused and enjoyable round as a single player in my flight.
