Abu Dhabi Golf Club provides the highest quality in every single area, it oozes class and style. From the minute that you arrive on the facility you realize the work and dedication that has gone into creating one of the most renowned resorts on the planet.
The Abu Dhabi clubhouse is stunning built in the shape of a Falcon, with outstretched wings. The facilities offer fine dining restaurants with cuisines from across the globe and spectacular views of the city and the golf course.
The leisure facilities continue the trend of luxury with gymnasiums and swimming pools of the highest standard.
The championship golf course at Abu Dhabi consists of 27 holes, which meander and through the natural landscape.
Designer Peter Harradine has created a stunning golf course which measures 7334 yards from the championship tees. The course home to the HSBC Abu Dhabi tournament provides a stern test of skill and nerve.
Harradine has cleverly used 7 lakes and 90 bunkers all strategically positioned to offer not just beautiful vistas, but a challenge to even the most skilled golfers.
Officially opened in 2000 the course sits on a site of 162 hectares and blends naturally into the surrounding environment.
The par 4, 6th, is a real test of nerve. Teeing off through an avenue of trees the fairway is narrow and protected on both sides by water calling for pinpoint accuracy from the tee. The approach is not an easy one with the green protected by bunkers front left and tight and overshadowed by large palm trees.
The picturesque par 3, 7th played over water to a narrow green is a great challenge and although not particularly long poses a threat to a good score.
The long par 4, 14th which measures almost 500 yards is a brute of a hole. Played between palm trees and a water hazard, with perfectly placed bunkers on either side of the fairway, call for accuracy and length if you are going to get home in two.
The par 72 championship course has a great run in, with water featuring on the final 3 holes. The 16th is a par 4 that doglegs to the left requiring a well positioned tee shot to leave a short iron into the undulating and relatively small green.
The 17th requires a good drive played short of the bunkers that protect the fairway, big hitters will be tempted to take more of the lake on and leave an inviting second shot into the kidney shaped green.
The final hole is a good finishing par 5. Long hitters should be able to get home in two, but a wayward drive will create a host of problems. The green is long so choosing the right club on the approach is vital.
Abu Dhabi golf course is a truly wonderful venue for a holiday and you will not be disappointed with the quality of the golf course and facilities.
