Created by PT Jakartabaru Cosmopolitan the Gading Raya Golf Club has become a must visit golfing destination in Indonesia. Located in the Serpong area of Jakarta visitors, guests and members can enjoy the fantastic facilities the exclusive club has to offer. The private residential area that surrounds the golf course creates a feeling of privacy and luxury, whilst feeling as though you are lost within the golf course.
Designed by acclaimed Australian Graham Marsh the course weaves its way around private parkland. The course is made up of two distinctive nines which both start and culminate in front of the substantial clubhouse.
Facilities in the clubhouse include, but are not limited to, an open air dining and bar area for golfers to enjoy, a well stoked pro shop offering the latest in golf fashion and conference and banqueting services.
The driving range sweeps around the rear of the clubhouse and offers the perfect setting to improve your game. Island greens are set amongst the shimmering lake and provide an unusual change to the daily grind of practice.
Gading Raya Golf Club has been designed with the club golfer in mind and this is apparent from the generous fairways and lack of immediate danger on the holes. For modern standards the course is not that long from the back tees measuring just 6500 meters, but it still testing enough for even the best golfers.
The fairways, as mentioned are wide and beautiful kept, almost carpet like and the ball sits beautiful atop the grass giving the golfer confidence standing over the ball.
Greens are immaculate and consistent which is a big plus for courses in the area that often battle to maintain the greens to a consistent standard. Averaging around 9 on the stimp meter the greens are quick but certainly manageable for any level of golfer and this is just one of the reasons why the course is such a pleasure to play.
The signature hole here has to go to the fourth hole, an uphill par four of around 380 meters from the tees of the day. A stream runs the length of the hole to the right and out of bounds left awaits anything that is too cautious, so care must be taken with the drive to set up a good angle from which to approach the long narrow green. Be sure to go for the right flag as the green is shared with the 6th hole.
All the par fives here are reachable in two, with the 8th and 18th posing the biggest threat to a good score.
The par threes are also all mid length ranging between 156 meters and 193 meters, so all golfers regardless of ability have a good chance of securing pars on a number of holes here at Gading Raya.
