Black Mountain Golf Club

Holes 27 | Par 72 | Length 6903 m / 7549 y | Type Parkland | Architect Notlöv & Edfors

Black Mountain Golf Club features 27-holes of breathtaking, championship-standard golf and regularly ranks as one of the top 100 courses in the world. The host of multiple Asian PGA events, the course is set amidst stunning mountains, natural creeks and contours carved by nature; it’s a beautiful area for a really challenging game of golf.

While Black Mountain Golf Club was designed to test professional players in mind, five tee boxes mean the challenge can be tailored to players of all abilities. The impeccably-maintained Seashore Paspalum fairways are actually more generous for the shorter drive, tending to narrow further down where Tiger would be landing his ball.

When it comes to the blind holes and severe dog-legs however, you might find yourself paying for an overly conservative approach off the tee. The greens are comfortably large but generally well protected by water and superbly sculpted bunkers.

All three nines (the original East and North Courses were supplemented by a third nine, the West Course, in 2016) feature some truly memorable holes. At the par-5 2nd on the East Course, water threatens three times, with a drive over a waterway, a lake intruding into the fairway, and another water carry on approach into a green guarded by two massive sand traps.

Black Mountain Golf Club

A nice course that is rather expensive for what you get

The course itself at Black Mountain is an enjoyable golf course that is reasonably well maintained. The facilities are pretty much the same as the facilities you would encounter it almost any other golf course. They have a reasonably sized pro shop, restaurant, bar, and men's locker room. All of which were clean and tidy. So why then have an average rating? I will tell you. 1st of all there were the charges for the cart, rental clubs, and caddy. None of these was seriously out of line other than the cost of the cart, however, none of them were up to standard. The cart had no electronic range finder on it as do the carts at Banyan. The caddy that I had, while attentive and nice, wasn't as knowledgeable as, once again, the caddy that I had at Banyon. The same goes for the rental clubs. Finally, from the advertising I expected an exceptional experience as they think of themselves as number one course in the area. I had one rather simple request on checking in which was for a band aid due to a skin rip on the ring finger on my right hand, which needed to be covered for the game. Neither the pro shop nor the starter were able to accommodate this simple request, and I had to go to the Mini March to purchase Band-Aids. Granted, it was only about 50 cents for the 5 plasters that I purchased, but it was such a simple request and I was surprised that they were not able to, or willing to accommodate me. I did like the course, and would play it again if I had friends that wanted to play there. My preference however would be to go to Banyan

An unbelievable experience. Fantastic course.

Great holes, great condition. Liked the innovative way they label/name the tees. Sadly the '61' tees were too far forward. Can't wait to return.

Great course and caddies

Top course in really good condition. Experienced caddies who help you negotiate your way around the course and on the greens. The day was very special as a member of our group got a hole in one on the par 3 third hole.

Very pleasant day of golf with a group of Australian players.

Despite the dry season the course is well kept. The course design is also nice for medium handicap players. No difficult hazards. Really enjoyable.
