Black Mountain Golf Club

Holes 27 | Par 72 | Length 6903 m / 7549 y | Type Parkland | Architect Notlöv & Edfors

Black Mountain Golf Club features 27-holes of breathtaking, championship-standard golf and regularly ranks as one of the top 100 courses in the world. The host of multiple Asian PGA events, the course is set amidst stunning mountains, natural creeks and contours carved by nature; it’s a beautiful area for a really challenging game of golf.

While Black Mountain Golf Club was designed to test professional players in mind, five tee boxes mean the challenge can be tailored to players of all abilities. The impeccably-maintained Seashore Paspalum fairways are actually more generous for the shorter drive, tending to narrow further down where Tiger would be landing his ball.

When it comes to the blind holes and severe dog-legs however, you might find yourself paying for an overly conservative approach off the tee. The greens are comfortably large but generally well protected by water and superbly sculpted bunkers.

All three nines (the original East and North Courses were supplemented by a third nine, the West Course, in 2016) feature some truly memorable holes. At the par-5 2nd on the East Course, water threatens three times, with a drive over a waterway, a lake intruding into the fairway, and another water carry on approach into a green guarded by two massive sand traps.

A very picturesque golf course in great condition

The course has spectacular views with mountain back drops. The par 3's are challenging with contoured greens. Fast but not unplayable fast.

Nice golf course spoiled by poor start time management.

Reviewed by ; on
We were a 4 ball teeing off at 8.00am on Sunday morning. It is a challenging and scenic golf course in good condition. My only criticism is their start time management was poor. There was a single player and a two ball in the two tee time slots behind us. The starter should have combined these into one flight or asked if we minded letting them tee off ahead of us. They did neither of these and we therefore had them pressing behind us for a few holes until an opportunity arose to let them play through. We still managed to complete the round in 4 hrs and 10 mins which is ok given that we allowed these 2 flights to pass through. Get your act together guys.

Best, Must Play course - fantastic condition

Reviewed by ; on
We played here 3 times, twice East & North, once on East & West and loved it. East and North is the better combination, more scenic and mature, West is still fairly new but still has good tricky holes. The course was in excellent condition and is in a beautiful setting. A challenging but fair course with a lot of water on all 3, 9s, so very enjoyable to play. Greens very quick and hard to read. All the caddies we had were very knowledgeable, understood our game quickly and the clubs we should use, enjoyed their job, were interested in how were playing and good fun too. Most also recorded our scores and our stats. We also played Banyan twice but for me Black Mountain is by far the better course and better value. A must play course.

Varied fairways and fast greens

Reviewed by ; on
I've been on this course for the fourth time in recent years. It really is one of the most beautiful golf courses I know. Very varied fairways complemented by extremely fast greens make the course challenging. Some of the bunkers have a lot of sand and are difficult to play.. perfect
