A brand new course in Kuala Lumpur which we have not had a chance to play yet. Its still in the soft launch phase and although the fairways are in good condition the greens still need time to bed down. Challenging back nine with plenty of elevation changes and numerous water hazards. Give it a chance to mature and this wil become one of the best golf courses in the area. Driving range will open early 2017 and pro-shop later this year.
Located at the end of a tree lined driveway, is the impressive colonial style clubhouse of the Kota Seriemas Golf course.
Imposing, the clubhouse is the first taste of what the owners of the course want to visitors to experience, the highest of standards. A well-stocked pro-shop, spacious and luxurious changing facilities and the restaurant, that provides views across the course ensures the perfect start or end to your round.
A championship golf course that will challenge all abilities has been carefully crafted to blend in with the natural beauty of the Malaysian Country side.
From the outset you feel as though there is something special about the way this course has been designed and built, with no stone left unturned in the pursuit of perfection.
Course maintenance is almost impeccable with superb running greens that will test the very best golfers.
The landscaping and inclusion of a wide variety of shrubs and flowering plants enhance the beauty of the course further, creating an ambience hard to beat in the area.
It is a course of differing halves, with the front 9 relatively flat and open, which can be slightly misleading, as the course plays much tougher than it looks.
The 2nd hole, ranked as the hardest on the course, really tests your ability and at 410 metres from the back tees it is long.
Unusually for new courses, all of the par threes are under 190metres in length, but the design of them makes up for the lack of length and present a challenging to all golfers.
The back 9 moves into the hillier terrain, and is a pleasant change to the layout of the course.
As mentioned previously the par threes although short are tough, and this is no more so than the 16th, which requires accuracy from the tee to avoid a watery grave.
The newly opened driving range adds to the resort feel of the course, but give it a few more years to mature and for the trees to grow and frame the fairways in the way they were intended to and Kota Seriesmas will become one of the best courses in the area.
