Krungthep Kreetha is one of the closest courses to the centre of Bangkok and also one of the oldest and as a result features many large and mature trees. The course is very popular with locals due to its long history and easy access and can get very crowded at weekends.
The course was extensively modernised and redesigned in the early 1980’s by James Vaughn. The new layout is more challenging with better use of the many water hazards and this combined with the numerous out-of-bounds means makes this a strategic course with straight hitting required to score well.
Nearly all the holes have either a water hazard or out of bounds on one or both sides of the fairway. The greens are also well protected with greenside bunkers and accurate approach shots are a must to get in a good position on the green The par 3's are all quite short but the greens are quite small and difficult to hold.
The renovated Krungthep Kreetha clubhouse is quite large with many facilities and an excellent Thai restaurant.
